1. Introduction
Holism Inc. ("Holism," "we," "us," or "our") operates a holistic health marketplace and practice management platform (the "Platform") that connects Clients with holistic, integrative, and complementary medicine Practitioners.
This Notice of Privacy Practices ("Notice") describes how we may use and disclose your Protected Health Information ("PHI") and outlines your rights under HIPAA.
This Notice applies to PHI that we create, receive, maintain, or transmit in connection with the clinical and care-related features of our Platform.
2. Our Role Under HIPAA
Holism does not offer insurance billing as a Platform feature, and most Practitioners on the Platform are not HIPAA Covered Entities. Where a Practitioner independently qualifies as a HIPAA Covered Entity — for example, by billing insurance electronically through their own systems outside the Platform — Holism executes a separate Business Associate Agreement with that Practitioner and acts as their Business Associate with respect to the PHI covered by that agreement. This Notice describes our practices for PHI in that context; for Practitioners who are not Covered Entities, Section 6 (Data Handling and Security) of the Terms of Use and this Platform's Privacy Policy govern instead.

3. How We May Use and Disclose Your PHI

We may use your PHI to operate and improve the Platform.
3.4 Business Associates
We may share PHI with trusted service providers who perform functions on our behalf.
3.5 As Required by Law
We may disclose PHI when required by federal, state, or local law.
3.6 Public Health and Safety
We may disclose PHI to prevent or lessen a serious threat to health or safety.
3.7 With Your Authorization
For any use not described, we will obtain your written authorization.
